Wound Healing Physicians

Robert Gasalberti, DPM, CWS, ABMSP
Dr. Gasalberti received his degree in podiatric medicine and surgery from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and has been on staff at Trinitas Regional Medical Center since 1994. He joined the medical staff of Trinitas Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine in 2000 and specializes in the treatment of lower extremity wounds of the foot and leg. He sees patients in assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Dr. Gasalberti is a board certified diplomat of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry and the American Academy of Wound Management.

Bruce W. Haims, MD, FAC, CWS
Dr. Haims received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He served as chief resident at Bellevue Hospital, and was a clinical instructor in surgery. Dr. Haims has served as Chief of Surgery at the Alexian Brothers Hospital and Elizabeth General Hospital. When Elizabeth General and St. Elizabeth Hospital formed Trinitas Regional Medical Center in 2000, Dr. Haims was named to the Emeritus Staff of the new hospital. Dr. Haims currently serves as Medical Director of the Trinitas Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Haims is board certified in the specialty of wound management.

Morteza Khaladj, DPM, FACPPM
Dr. Khaladj holds a degree in podiatric medicine and surgery from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1986. Dr. Khaladj served as a post doctoral preceptor at the College of Podiatric Medicne. Dr. Khaladj is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine and is also a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. Since 2002, he has served as a lecturer on the VAC system and as a visiting professor and lecturer on wound care in Iran. He was appointed Chief of Podiatry at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in 2001, and is the Director of the Podiatric Surgical Residency Program.

Yoshinobu Mifune, MD
Dr. Mifune was the medical director at The Reading Hospital's Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine Center (Wyomissing, PA) before joining the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. Dr. Mifune is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in the subspecialty area of Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine and Family Medicine as well as a board-certified wound specialist and a certified hyperbaric technologist. Prior to his experience at The Reading Hospital, Dr. Mifune was affiliated with the Comprehensive Wound Healing Center at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. While serving as associate medical director there, Dr. Mifune helped guide the accomplishments of the Center, which received the prestigious Center of Excellence Award from Diversified Clinical Services for three consecutive years, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Peter Mlynarczyk, MD, FAC
Dr. Mlynarczyk is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, of Thomas Jefferson University, where he received the Francis T. Steward Award for Clinical Surgical Excellence. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgery, the Southeastern Surgical Society, and the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery. Dr. Mlynarczyk served as Medical Director of the Trinitas Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center for ten years, bringing hyperbaric oxygen treatment and several national awards to Trinitas Regional Medical Center. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Touro Medical College, and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Seton Hall University.
